Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Highlight website, Chrome extension, APIs, and connected memory services.
Effective date: July 10, 2026
Using Highlight
You must provide accurate account information, safeguard your credentials, and use Highlight only where permitted by law and by the websites or content sources you access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
Your content
You retain ownership of passages, notes, prompts, and other content you submit. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, transform, and transmit that content to provide Highlight and integrations you authorize. You represent that you have the right to submit the content you capture.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, bypass access controls, interfere with other users, distribute malware, conduct unlawful surveillance, infringe intellectual property, or use Highlight to violate applicable law. Automated access must follow published interfaces and reasonable rate limits.
AI-generated output
AI responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate. Verify important information against original sources. Highlight does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features and may limit access to protect the service. Beta and early-access features may change without notice. We work to keep your saved memory accessible but do not promise uninterrupted operation.
Paid access
If you purchase a subscription, pricing and renewal terms shown at checkout apply. You authorize recurring charges until cancellation. Access may continue through the paid period after cancellation. Taxes and refunds are handled as stated at checkout and as required by law.
Termination
You may stop using Highlight at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, security risk, nonpayment, or legal requirement. Provisions that by nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
Disclaimers and liability
Highlight is provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits, or loss of data. Our aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for Highlight during the twelve months before the claim.
